Anxiety: A path towards failure in advance.

Anxiety today has taken a very horrifying turn as more and more people are getting lost into the cycle of anxiety during this post lockdown period. People who already suffer from anxiety are getting worst affected as they are not able to handle themselves with the current situation around.

With the news circulating combined with shocking reports, people have started to develop what I call as OCD-Obsessive 'Corona' Disorder. They constantly involve themselves in getting informed about the current situation excessively and end up increasing their levels of anxiety.

Dr Steven Taylor, a professor in the psychiatry department at the University of British Columbia, in Canada said that "Some people are describing the emotions they are feeling as symptomatic of agoraphobia, but this isn't accurate. What people are describing as agoraphobia is similar superficially in some ways to agoraphobia, in that they're frightened of going outside, but the motivation is different."

Typically, people with agoraphobia will avoid certain situations, because they are frightened of having a panic attack.

"These people [anxious about life after lockdown] aren't frightened of having panic attacks, they're frightened of infection," says Dr Taylor

"WHO" has even talked about the increasing levels of anxiety throughout the world which is causing an ample amount of suicide attempts and people falling into depression to escape their reality.

People who are completely new to anxiety and don't even realize that with each passing day they are developing anxiety traits are the ones who are most vulnerable. So it's important for people to know what are the signs of it. Here they are:

Then comes it's precaution. How can we reduce our anxiety. Vinita Mehta, Ph.D.,is a clinical psychologist, journalist, and media expert based in Washington, DC. In her clinical practice, she provides supportive and scientific treatments for adults. Her specialties include depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, and building health and resilience, and she has a particular interest in recovery from trauma and abuse. She has given a 10 min therapy for anxiety during lockdown.

I hope this video by #Goodful turns out to be helpful and at the same time reduces all the stress, grief, anxiety and depression people are developing during the times of hardships.

The only way we can tackle anxiety is to let things go. Do not take your problems very seriously because thinking about them will make you worst. Give yourself some break and be resilient during this pandemic and let yourself win over anxiety and emerge as a changed and strong human being.
