Natural ways for healing depression!

Updated: Jan 22, 2021

Feeling depressed when things are not right is not depression but however feeling low and horrible when things are completely fine is called real DEPRESSION. Declaring to the world that you suffer from depression doesn't make or sound you insane so why do you need to hide this feeling under a mask of 'I AM FINE' every single day?

I had my own journey battling with depression in 2018 when I was diagnosed with Lupas.

Now, I can say that I have successfully come out of this feeling and I want to share with you all the things that I kept in mind during these two years. so here is the video:)

Depression has it's own symptoms. It is different for men, women and children but some are common to these three groups and they are:

  1. Mood is generally angry, aggressiveness, irritability, restlessness.

  2. Emotional instability i.e feeling sad, hopeless and empty and not being able to control these emotions because they occur to you every time.

  3. Changed behavior patterns like lost interest in regular activities, feeling tired easily, suicidal thoughts.

  4. Cognitive abilities, such as inability to concentrate, difficulty completing tasks, delayed responses during conversations

  5. Sleep patterns, such as insomnia, restless sleep, excessive sleepiness, not sleeping through the night

  6. Physical well-being, such as fatigue, pains, headache, digestive problem

Anyways, I am here to give you some NATURAL WAYS with which you can at least HEAL your depression. I suggest you to take a MENTAL HEALTH DAY OFF every week! A day or maybe sometimes two;) just to yourself and to regain back slowly and steadily your normal life.

So follow these steps on your mental heath day off:)

  • STEP 1: Go to your bathroom and take a hot/cold shower( depending on the weather outside) with your favorite playlist of songs.

  • STEP 2: Order your favorite salad from your favorite restaurant because it ensures a conscious effort to eat mood-lifting food to kick start your day.

  • STEP 3: While waiting for your dish, just jot down the things you want to achieve that day and write what you love about that day( remember to stay positive).

  • STEP 4: Find small ways to be service to others, The feeling that you get by helping others is the most comforting and achievable thing that makes you feel good about yourself.

  • STEP 5: Next, plan pleasant events for yourself. The things that you love to do the most or it can also be a 2-3 hr vacation;)

  • STEP 6: Stay in the present. With you being in the phase of depression it might be a little difficult at first but remember that you need to enjoy in those 2-3 hrs. Stop thinking about your problems and worries in those hours.

  • STEP 7: Talk to your childhood friends and your family and replenish your memories while sitting and enjoying a beautiful scenery.

  • STEP 8: We also need to exercise our body and mind out and what better way than to do YOGA( not alone but in a yoga class full with people). It is highly suggested that HOT YOGA does miracles. So, be sure you try this once.

  • STEP 9: You reach home and once again you jot the things that you did and how you felt in that moment.

  • STEP 10: Sleep. Keep your worries, tensions and problems out and reflect what a wonderful time you had that day.

While planning your activities make sure you connect to new people and by the end go to a quite yet beautiful place to complete your STEP 7.

You need to at least give it a try because ignoring depression is like calling your unexplained death. Or if it still doesn't work it's high time that you approach a consultant and there is no shame in that. MENTAL HEALTH IS A PART OF YOUR PHYSICAL HEALTH.

DEPRESSION is living in a body that fights to survive, with a mind that tries to die. So, don't run away from it and start to face and heal it.
